Speeding and Vehicular ASB in Yateley, Blackwater and Hawley |

Good morning!
Since my return to Yateley after a bit of time off, I’ve had a lot – and I mean A LOT – of people tell me that their main concern where they live is speeding and nuisance vehicles.
They’re telling me at school times, in the evenings, overnight, and at random times in the day, they’re getting vehicles flying past their homes with absolutely no regard for the safety of the communities they’re travelling through.
One of my objectives for the not too distant future therefore, is to revive the Community Speedwatch schemes throughout Yateley, Blackwater and Hawley. It’s a national initiative where members of local communities, with the support and supervision of ourselves, record details of speeding vehicles using approved detection devices. Registered keepers of vehicles breaking the speed limit are contacted by letter, and repeat offenders receive a visit from us.
It’s a voluntary role for members of our community to positively affect road safety where they live. You can give up as much or as little time as you like – even an hour a month would be better than nothing at all. That’s just 0.14% of your time!
All you need to do is pop me an email – ben.blundell@hampshire.police.uk – and I’ll arrange a 30 minute training input with you before you can attend your first session.
I hope to hear from as many people as possible!
Stay safe,
PC 27999 Ben Blundell, Local Bobby for Yateley, Blackwater and Hawley. | ||
